This was the first, and we were still learning the format. It was the most inspired by the Awkward Family Photos trend, and to date the one our friends cite the most. It still remains on a couple of refrigerators even today.

Mostly it proved that the important element here, was to showcase our dog, Donut. Everybody loves Donut.

I was pretty proud of this one, recreating the classic Home Alone movie poster, with us playing the roles of the Wet Bandits, and Donut had a Christmas skirt suitable enough to echo Kevin McCallister's iconic red sweater.

We were apart for a year, as I lived in Colorado hoping to make more money in a bigger market that we might enjoy life a little bigger (and save up for a ring) - so we used the photos we had on hand, and some hastily edited clipart.

Tiger King was a big deal during the pandemic, and we ran with it. Donut hated the tiger costume. She yowled the whole time, so much that we worried that neighbors thought we were beating her.

We visited Hawaii during COVID, which was a great deal. We edited Donut into a picture of us at the Kualoa Ranch, where so many great movies were filmed, including my wife's favorite, Jurassic Park. We had to capitalize on it.

The year we got married, and in my wife's words, the one and only time she'd allow herself to be called a Bridezilla. In real life she wasn't one at all, our nuptials were pretty relaxed; but this recreation of the classic Godzilla poster begs to differ.

Our delayed honeymoon to Japan brought about this card. We have photographs of ourselves in samurai gear at Osaka Castle, which we then stylized into this - Donut did not get to travel with us, so we added her in afterward.

We ordered custom Lego minifigs to create this card. More than naps and her owner, Donut loved pizza. It is the one constant throughout her life. We had to honor that love.

One might notice I started referring to Donut in past tense. She passed away this year due to cardiac issues and old age (she was days away from turning 18) so we chose to immortalize her in a drawing. Meanwhile, a second trip to Japan enabled us to meet unaffiliated mascot Chiitan - and if you know Chiitan, then this card makes a little more sense.
